1919 – Company Foundation

Founded as Hanawa Engraving Corp. by Tsunetaro Hanawa in Tokyo, Japan. Contributed to industrial engraving and decoration technology through exceptional craftsmanship.

1957 – New Incorporation

Renamed Tokyo Chokoku Marking Products Co., Ltd. and incorporated. Began producing mechanical numbering heads, set markers, press and roll marking machines—technologies that remain foundational today.

2009 – MarkinBOX Debut

Launched the MB3315, the first model of the MarkinBOX series, introducing the world’s most compact portable dot pin marker.

2017 – U.S. Sales Office Established

Founded TOCHO MARKING SYSTEMS AMERICA, Inc. in Torrance, California, serving as our North and South American base.

2018 – Patmark Debut

Started production and sales of the Patmark series. These unique battery-powered markers provide a fully mobile marking solution.

2021 – MarkinLASE Debut

Introduced the MOPA Fiber Laser Marker with an innovative 3-in-1 design for flexible, versatile operation. Class 4, portable, and enclosure options can all be integrated into a single model.

2023 – New Smart Factory & Company Name Change

As we look toward the next century, our new Smart Factory headquarters is complete, representing our evolution as a global traceability solutions provider. To strengthen our international presence, we have unified our company name under our global brand, **Tocho Marking Systems Inc.**
